RaceRunners Cup Information

3rd CPISRA World Championship in RaceRunningThe RaceRunners Cup is held in accordance with IAAF rules and the competition takes place in accordance with the international classification standards. When distributing the prizes, we will also observe the international standards.

The fact that the International RaceRunners Cup is conducted in accordance with IAAF rules have the following implications:

All runners will be announced 15 minutes in advance of their start. After that each runner has 5 minutes to find his or her way to the marchalling area, from which all athletes will be accompanied to the starting area for their activity 8 to 10 minutes before it begins.

During each race only athletes and officials are allowed on the track. Assistants, parents and the like must remain outside the track 8. Dispensation from this rule can be given by the Cup Management, if it is deemed absolutely necessary.

To optimize the races, the Cup Management retain the right to mix runners from different classes in each heat – as far as this is possible within IAAF rules.

Medal distribution

Regardless of whether or not runners from different classes are mixed as specified above, the following rules for medal distribution apply:

Athletes are divided in races according to gender, age and disability level (international classifications).

In each contest a minimum of two runners must participate in order for a gold medal to be given. Three runners is the minimum for silver to be given, and four is the minimum for bronze to be given.

In this way it can seem unfair that one does not have the option of winning gold in a discipline on the sole basis that no others have chosen to participate in it. But this is, however, the international cup rules.

All athletes will receive a diploma stating his or her results, and any such results will be able to function officially as either personal or world records, regardless of whether or not the runner won a medal or not.

In order to participate, we encourage you to fill out the form below now. This will help us plan ahead. Alternatively, entry can also take place during the camp itself.
